The prescription applications of Lortab
One of several marketed brand names for the hydrocodone/paracetamol compound medication containing hydrocodone is known as Lortab. Anexsia, Norco, and Vicodin are examples of the other brand names on the market. These are all analgesics or painkillers which are commonly prescribed for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. They are considered as being a primary drug threat in the US according to the DEA who has classified them in the “illegally distributed and trafficked prescription medications” category.
The warning signs of Lortab addiction
Lortab is popular because it is an opioid-based narcotic painkiller. Unfortunately, it is frequently over-prescribed by doctors based on its effectiveness. But, it is readily available as a street drug as well. The drug is a powerfully addictive substance and the majority of the addiction treatment and recovery centers in the US now offer Lortab substance abuse treatment programs that treat individuals who are suffering with addiction. Surprisingly, some cases of Lortab addiction are not as apparent as others.
There are numerous “red flags” or warning signs indicating Lortab addiction which can oftentimes be difficult to distinguish from behavioral and mental disorders. The more common signs that we witness when a Lortab addiction is present include:

- nausea and vomiting
- erratic or fluctuating moods
- dry mouth
- drowsiness

Additionally, individuals addicted to Lortab will oftentimes consume alcohol in conjunction with Lortabs to increase the desired effect. They may combine the drug with muscle relaxants or tranquilizers as well in order to intensify this desired “high.”
