Sober Living Rehab

The Importance of sober living rehab

Ask a dozen former alcohol or drug addicts who went through treatment and recovered about the importance of sober living rehab and you’ll get a fairly common answer – they couldn’t have remained clean and sober as long as they have without it. There are a number of reasons that this type of residence is so important in the recovery process but the primary one is the fact that it enables the individual a smoother transition back into society from the institution they were in.

Additionally, there are times when the individual just doesn’t feel confident in their sobriety enough to skip the sober living rehab and just return home to their communities. As you can well see, this type of facility is so much more sophisticated than the original halfway houses of years gone by. Initially, these residences catered to people who had just been released from prison or were recovering alcoholics. They have now evolved to where they accommodate the recovering drug addict as well.

For the individual who was addicted to alcohol and other psychoactive substances for several years, transitioning back into society can oftentimes be a difficult task and extremely stressful. Sometimes, these individuals will cave into the pressures of everyday that they haven’t had to deal with while staying in an addiction treatment and recovery center. They resort back to the only coping mechanism they know – alcohol or drugs – to get them through each day.

Sober living at the Delray Recovery Center

The Delray Recovery Center offers a sober living rehab program on-site so that if you do not feel ready to return to society, you don’t have to. Your stay in our dedicated facility has no time limit, meaning that you can stay until you are totally confident about returning home without the fear of relapsing back into your addiction. In order to help you gain more confidence in your sobriety, we offer a number of recovery tools including teaching you additional relapse prevention techniques so you can handle living on your own again.

In most instances, you will be living in our sober living rehab facility on an out-patient basis and cannot initially enter the program until you have completed an in-patient treatment and recovery program. There is also a support network throughout the community that can help you during this early recovery period so that you can easily adjust to your new lifestyle. This support network also increases your chances of remaining clean and sober or substance-free once you leave and start your life over.
