Relapse Treatment

After care addiction treatment programAs treatment begins at Delray Recovery Center, each patient is fully assessed on the basis of clinical history, previous treatments, and current conditions. Taking into account previous relapses and other considerations, the primary therapist works with the individual to create a customized treatment plan. For an individual who has suffered multiple relapses, the customized treatment program may include a rigorous focus on relapse prevention, intense individual therapy sessions, and a commitment to a 90 day treatment program combined with sober living and outpatient care beyond the 90 days.

The rigorous relapse prevention component focuses on the identification, acknowledgement and treatment of core issues that led to relapse. Through a process called Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), therapists work closely with individuals to help uncover triggers and behaviors that were interfering with recovery. Then, the focus turns to eliminating or managing the triggers, modifying behaviors, and practicing new coping skills to counter any potential triggers. As this process is completed, we work with each individual to help them remove damaging feelings such as guilt and shame, often associated with relapse.

The Delray Recovery Center approach is to evaluate, understand, and treat each person on an individual basis. We believe that allowing the individual the time to fully achieve goals in each phase strengthens and deepens the absorption of these new attitudes and behaviors, encourages reinforcement in a stable and safe environment, and provides a better diagnosis post-acute withdrawal of underlying conditions including anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorders. Individuals are welcome to stay even after having completed the program, allowing each person time to develop confidence in their sobriety and coping techniques needed for the transition from rehab to daily life in society.
