life after drug and alcohol rehab. The Importance of After-Care
As treatment comes to an end and individuals leave the campus, true recovery in daily life begins. This is the vital time when an individual begins incorporating the new, healthy lifestyle strategies and routines into daily life.
After leaving treatment, recovering individuals will face challenges such as finding a job, reuniting with old friends, and building a support network. Questions will arise such as:
- “who will consider me for a job after rehabilitation?”
- “How do I reconnect with old friends who were users?”
- “Who can I depend on for support?”
- “How do I find those old friends who shunned me for drug use?”
These challenges may produce anxiety; recovering addicts must approach these challenges carefully using their newly adopted skills. But after leaving treatment, these recovering addicts will not be alone.
Our After Care Treatment Program
Recognizing this crucial challenge in an individual’s recovery, Delray Recovery Center’s AfterCare provides unmatched support as the individual leaves campus and integrates back into society. Evening groups, recovery workshops, and individual therapy sessions are some of the options that the individual and primary counselor will consider as part of the customized AfterCare program. Furthermore, the active Delray Recovery Center Alumni groups facilitate the creation and preservation of friendships with program colleagues and individuals who completed the program months or years ago.
