Overweight
The term “overweight” simply refers to having excess body fat. It is a common health condition in the lives of many men and women all over the world. This phenomenon is usually seen in situations where there is enough supply of all manner of food stuff of all kinds. Ordinarily, a healthy body requires a minimum amount of fat for the proper functioning of the body hormones and every other body systems such as the respiratory and the immune system. But when too much of fat are stored, the inevitable result that follows is overweight which is also known as obesity.
Causes of Overweight
Like every other phenomenon on earth, overweight has real factors that make it to be continually seen in the lives of many men and women. Generally the state of being overweight is caused by the intake of more calories which are contained in various foodstuffs. The factors that may cause the availability of more calories in the body include: lack of physical exercise, overeating, lack of proper nutrition, genetic predisposition, hormonal imbalances, metabolic disorders, and eating disorders such as binge eating (compulsive excess eating), alcoholism, medication, and some other factors.
Among all these factors, overeating which is exemplified in various eating disorders is the major cause of overweight. It is a commons sight to see men and women engaging in various forms of eating disorders. Many eat uncontrollably thereby opening the door for the obese nature.
Another serious factor worthy of discussion is the issue of biological or genetic factor. Many people who are overweight today got that from their family gene lineage. Overweight parents are usually prone to giving birth to children who will later become obese as they grow up. Oftentimes the overweight nature still comes despite every attempt made in controlling it.
However, the issue of overweight has a solution. The condition could be controlled and treated. Generally the best recommended treatment for overweight is controlled diet in conjunction with proper daily physical exercise.
Again, overweight could also be treated via medication especially through “anti-obesity drugs” which are available but must be taken under the instruction of medical personnel.
However, the best method to use in getting rid of the overweight nature is through the controlled diet and proper physical exercised as stated earlier. If you are overweight, you have to carefully choose the kinds of foodstuff to eat. You must have to avoid junk foods and other foodstuff with high calorie contents. Again, Daily physical exercise is a must. You must have to at least engage in one game or the other. You can also acquire the helpful habit of walking some distance daily.
Finally, getting rid of the overweight nature demands a lot of seriousness and determination. You need to push through until the perfect result is achieved.
