The use of drugs has seen an increase in the last few years. A wide variety of drugs ranging from prescription drugs to party or club drugs are easily available. The production and distribution of these drugs are greater and more widespread. As a result, there is now more Ketamine Drug Addiction on the street.

Ketamine is a drug that is very popular with the crowds at parties and raves. Usually these crowds are teenagers or young adults. It is a drug that is similar to PCP and can thus cause ill effects like numbness, muscle rigidity, violent or aggressive behavior and loss of coordination. However, this is a lot less effective than PCP. The general use of ketamine is to induce and maintain anesthesia in the patient. It is usually used in combination with some other sedative drug.

Ketamine, used for legitimate purposes, is available in an injectable form. This is a clear liquid. It is also available in a white or off-white powdered form which is then inhaled. This drug can be mixed with other drugs like marijuana or in a drink. Ketamine is known by several names like K, Vitamin K, Blind squid, Purple, Super acid and Super C.

The use of ketamine causes a wide range of effects to occur in human beings. They can affect the body and mind of the individual. Some of these effects include hallucinations, increased blood pressure and analgesia. Ketamine users can experience feelings of dissociation or detachment. The user may also experience boredom, rapture and paranoia. Users commonly report an out-of-body or near-death experience. Because of its dissociative or detachment effect, ketamine is widely used as a date rape drug to sexually assault an unsuspecting individual.

There is a difference between dissociative drugs like ketamine and a hallucinogenic drug like LCD. While ketamine causes the individual to harbor feelings of detachment from the surroundings and the self, L CD cause distortions in what the addict perceives as reality. In other words, a person under the influence of LSD may only see, hear or feel things that do not exist in the real world. It is all in the head.

There are several drug rehab centers that can help an addict to overcome his or her problem. These rehab facilities provide a wide variety of programs and treatments like detoxification, ketamine de-addiction treatments and rehab programs to suit the needs and requirements of such individuals. The main objective of such rehab centers is to help ketamine drug addicts overcome and eventually defeat their desire to consume ketamine.

Having just the infrastructure is of no use to any one. For that reason, these facilities are manned by people who have the necessary knowledge and experience in this field. These people are also gentle, caring and sensitive and are not critical or judgmental of the patient. Once the patient is admitted in to these centers, he or she is on the path to recovery from Ketamine Drug Addiction.
