Painkiller Addiction Treatment

How we Can Help

Painkiller Addiction Treatment

Delray Recovery Center offers inpatient and outpatient programs. The inpatient programs give the individual an option to stay at the facility while receiving treatment and not returning home until after treatment is over. The outpatient care program gives the individual the freedom to live at home and go to work while still receiving rehabilitation treatment.  Many of our clients work from 9 to 5 at their jobs and we give them the flexibility of attending or scheduling sessions as per their requirement. Your success to break free from the bonds of drug addiction is important to us.

Painkillers are prescribed medications used to treat someone for pain. If taken for a long period of time, the body can build up a tolerance for it and the body adjusts the normal operations with the level of intensity of the pain. This requires the user to crave a higher dose in order to control the pain until eventually this is no longer possible. If the painkiller medication is stopped suddenly, withdraw symptoms will be felt; restlessness, nervousness, vomiting, nausea, muscle pain, involuntary movements, and insomnia. The neuron-functions in the brain are reprogrammed so the body will need the drug in order to function.

Treatment for painkiller addiction

Painkiller addiction treatment will work in two ways; behavioral aspect and the pharmacological aspect. The behavioral aspect will teach the client how to handle their life without the medication. During this time, the client will be given counseling on how to mend relationships that have been destroyed by the drug addiction to friends, family, and the entire community. Detoxification begins immediately. The pharmacological aspect will use some prescription medication to help the client get off of the painkillers and minimize the side effects. The side effects felt during treatment will not be as severe as they would be if an addict was to quit suddenly.

It takes both in order to make the treatment a success. All of the treatment is provided by a well trained professional medical staff. We at Delray Recovery Center are here to help any individual who has an addiction to painkillers. If you or someone you know has an addiction, don’t put it off another day.
