A video was released today that captures Miley Cyrus smoking what appears at first glance to be marijuana. Apparently the young singer/starlet/actress is actually smoking a substance called salvia, which is said to have hallucinogenic effects when inhaled. Although the natural herb, salvia, is still legal in many states, including California, many of its effects resemble those experienced with marijuana. The DEA has been looking into salvia for some time now to determine the exact nature of its effects on the body and mind. The legality of possession and usage of salvia could soon change once more information is obtained.

The bigger question at hand, at least concerning this particular story, is whether Miley Cyrus, best known for her role as Hannah Montana, is heading down the same path as troubled celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. Could her partying ways land her in drug rehab soon? Let’s hope Miley outgrows this partying phase before it turns into a much more serious and dangerous problem like addiction.
